Cecy Rose

Cecy Rose is a native of Lexington, Kentucky. She moved to the Wheeling area over 35 years ago after graduating from Rhode Island School of Design with a masters in painting. She has worked in oils, mixed media drawing, life drawing and lithography, as well as other forms of printmaking. After leaving a position as drawing instructor at a small art school in Pittsburgh in 1977, she took a position as head of the graphic arts department at West Virginia Northern Community College, where she also taught painting, drawing and printmaking classes part-time. She was also an instructor for drawing classes at the Stifel Fine Arts Center in Wheeling for many years. Cecy is currently offering private lessons at her studio near Wheeling, WV. Her work, consisting of oils, pastels and mixed media drawings, is also exhibited there.

  • West Virginia Northern Community College, Wheeling Campus, adjunct faculty, February, 1977. Served as Graphic Artist for the college from 1977 to 1979. Returned to adjunct faculty position in 1989.

  • Workshops – WVNCC Children’s Workshops, 1979 – organized travelling exhibit.
